Milky Way wedding astro shoots are very specialised. Adventuring under the Milky Way surrounded by billions of stars is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and 100 percent worth capturing to remember forever. With our astro sessions, we get you out into the depths of nature, away from light pollution to see the Milky Way in all its glory. Enviromental Factors need to line up for the shoot
1. Weather
Weather plays a massive factor in an astro shoot. Clouds can roll in quickly and block the stars. (Having a backup night if possible helps to minimize this issue)
2. Light Pollution
Excess light pollution very quickly drowns out stars and makes it impossible to capture star details and the Milky Way core. We carefully pick each location to maximise the stars and Milky Way Visability to ensure you get the best Astro wedding photos ever.
3. Moon Phases
The moon also plays a big role in star visibility.
Certain days of the month are alot better than others for astro images. The less moon visible the better! We always try and time the shoots to make sure the moon is in the best phase for your images.
Best time for booking a shoot
The Milky Way core is only Visible between late March - October, so booking between these times is recommended.
Summer still works, but you won't see the Milky Way core.
Mackenzie country is classified as a dark sky reserve, it has some of the darkest skies in the whole world!
